Have a great summer and  remember to make good decisions and stay safe.  Staff will be in town all summer so if you are in DC come by to say Hi.  We are up for programming ideas, hiking, biking etc.

Shalom! I am a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Iowa. I am interested in studying the experiences of female Jewish students attending colleges or universities. Jewish women have been virtually ignored in the empirical literature on body image despite literature to suggest that Jewish females experience body dissatisfaction. I would appreciate your consideration of my research study.  For more information, please click below.

Please join us April 28th through May 1st for Holocaust Remembrance Week. Throughout the week, we will be handing out ribbons to help remember the victims on H Street Plaza from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have a wide range of programs throughout the week:

- Viewing of “The Devil Came on Horseback” (a documentary about the
genocide in Sudan) along with Guest Speaker Mark Hanis, Executive Director
of the Genocide Intervention Network, on Monday 7 P.M. in the Continental
Ballroom.

GW Hillel is seeking a Development Intern for the 2008-2009 school year!

GW Hillel is looking for someone to work 6-8 hours a week who is organized, reliable, a critical thinker and willing to learn. Responsibilities include database entry and management, organizing the semi-annual phone-a-thon, grant research as well as other fundraising projects. No experience necessary! A few hours of training before the end of the semester would be necessary. Contact Ilana at ASAP if you are interested. Work study a plus, but not required.

“Let all who are hungry come and eat.”
GW Hillel like ever year will fulfill this injunction, but we will do so with the help of the greater Jewish community of Washington, DC. This year Passover begins on Saturday night April 19th right after Shabbat. With daylight savings time, Passover coming so late in the season, Shabbat ending so late, and because our kitchen is now under the supervision of the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington, it will be too difficult for us to hold a communal Seder on Saturday night. We have worked out several options for those of you who wish to participate in a Seder on Saturday night. This year we will hold our communal Seder on Sunday Apr. 20th @ 7 PM, the second night of Passover.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THE DEADLINE FOR SAT. & SUN. SEDER REGISTRATION & MON. MEALS IS FRI. Apr. 11 @ Noon so that special foods for Passover can be ordered and prepared.
