OUR NEW HOME
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF JEWISH LIFE LOOK LIKE?
We are thrilled to be building our community as we build our new home at 2300 H Street. As our community continues to grow and evolve, our new space will provide students with the tools to lead meaningful, vibrant Jewish lives.
After years of preparation, GW Hillel is building a new state-of-the-art home in the heart of downtown at 2300 H Street, slated to open in fall of 2020.
The building, along with the programs and services housed within it, will help to provide the Jewish students of GW the tools they need to lead meaningful, vibrant Jewish lives during their time on campus and beyond.
Students are supported as they make choices that impact their individual identity, their campus community, and the world. Utilizing innovative education and leadership training, in concert with the warmth and support that college students need, GW Hillel works to empower the nearly 4,500 Jewish students on campus.
GW Hillel is funded directly by the generous support of alumni, families, community members, and friends. Your gift, no matter the amount, provides meaningful Jewish experiences for GW students to enrich their lives, the Jewish community in greater Washington, D.C., and the world.

GW Hillel is excited to be preparing to open our doors at our new home on 23rd + H Streets. As finishing touches are finalized, few are more important than hanging mezuzot. But we cannot do that without you.
We’re thrilled to announce the GW Hillel Mezuzah Design Competition. All are invited to submit an image that will be utilized on the front cover of a mezuzah case measuring 1 ¼ inches X 5 5/8 inches. Ideal designs will add color, joy, and meaning to doorways throughout the building, and all artists are invited to add an artist statement explaining why you created your design to fit in our Hillel home. With any further questions, email Adena.
Contest Rules & Guidelines
By submitting a design, you are doing so with original work and are agreeing that the design may be utilized by GW Hillel without any remuneration; any plagiarized images will not be accepted.
All designs must be submitted in .jpeg or .png format; if chosen as the winner, design may be requested in alternate format.
The winning image will be utilized on mezuzah cases around the building; GW Hillel also reserves the right to fabricate additional mezuzahs for alternative use; no cash prize is being offered.
The winning design will be scaled down to fit 1 ¼ inches x 5 5/8 inches (sample below); designs must be submitted in proportion to this size in order for re-sizing to take place; no words or numbers should be included, as they will not be legible once re-sizing is completed.
All designs will be reviewed and chosen by a panel of GW Hillel community members.
Artists may submit up to 3 images in their entry.
