Howard Jacobson is best known for writing comic novels that often revolve around the dilemmas of British Jewish characters.  In England, he is known as the English Philip Roth.  He is the author of Kalooki Nights, a novel Jonathan Safran Foer called ‘a work of genius” in the New York Times.
